jill-fischerJill brings 15+ years of experience in mental health to our practice. Jill is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in child, adult, couples, and family psychotherapy. She grew up on the East Coast and has been living and working as an MFT in California since 2001. After being in private practice in San Juan Capistrano for 10 years, she decided to join our practice to collaborate with other clinicians and work with a team for the most comprehensive care for her clients. She has extensive clinical experience in a variety of settings and currently works with a broad spectrum of clients and presenting problems.

Jill graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Child and Family Studies. She continued her education at the University of New Hampshire where she earned a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her clinical approach focuses on the family system in better understanding relationships, communication, and interactions between people. Her theoretical approach is eclectic and strength-based. In this way, she is able to utilize various theories and techniques to provide an appropriate fit for each client with whom she works with. Some of these theories and techniques include, but are not limited to, a structural-strategic approach, a cognitive-behavioral approach, a solution-focused approach, and narrative techniques. In-session exercises are also used as well as between-session homework assignments and tasks. These theories and techniques are also helpful when working with children and are often combined with additional tools such as art and play therapy.

Her specialties include addressing parenting concerns, behavioral issues, separation and divorce, school problems, communication issues, depression, anxiety, infidelity, addiction, and grief. The mission of her practice is to provide a safe and caring environment in which clients are able to address their unique situations. She is committed to providing support, understanding, and compassion to her clients while helping them to identify and reach their therapeutic goals.
